If you did get everything that made that legendary item and created it before the ladder ended, when everything turned to 'non-ladder' you got to keep that legendary piece of equipment and can be shared/traded to any of your other characters or other players. If you didn't make that item before the Ladder ended, you would still get to keep the components you gathered, but they wouldn't be able to create those legendary level pieces of equipment. Once the ladder ends, your character and all of items found were turned to 'non-ladder'. There's a ton of YouTube videos on ladder starts. I know trading is huge for gearing but we can keep that out of this conversation because its such a given. It could take the entire ladder season to try and get everything required, even by trading with other people. Most streamline way to get from point A to point B. You don't win anything, just for the pride of it.īack in the original, Ladder was more important because most of the best items in the game could only be created in Ladder by combining a handful of very rare item runes with a really good quality item to use to make it. Unless we learn more info, Ladder is just going to be a the start of a new 'season' where you have to make a new character to play in it, and it's kind of a 'race' to max out your character to level 99, and has a leaderboard that tracks everyone. It really isn't a big deal with D2R, because many of the exclusive aspects of ladder are now available to players in non ladder as well.
